
Shimabara is a Japanese town in Nagasaki prefecture, located in the northwest part of the Shimabara peninsula. The town looks out onto Ariake Bay in the east and the Uzendake and Fugendake mountains in the west. The town’s main tourist attraction is Shimabara Castle and the nearby Samurai street. Shimabara also houses onsen (hot spring resorts).
